QUEEN PROMOTION AT USA STARBUCKS
In the States, we're selling a CD, "Glam Revolution", with Killer Queen on it at Starbucks. Freddie is on the cover.
We have a picture of Brian and Freddie below every cash register in the US. It's a great honor.
Below the CD rack in Starbucks is a sign that reads "Discover the roots of punk, metal, and new wave in Glam Rock" with picture of Freddie and Brian on it.
The booklet that comes with the CD describes "Killer Queen" as follows:
"Spearheaded by one of the most charismatic and gifted frontmen hard-rock had produced, Queen ruled the roost with cocksure arrogance from the release of their breakthrough album , "Sheer Heart Attack" in 1974, until Mercury's health began to suffer the ravages of AIDS (He died November 24th, 1991). A hit on both sides of the pond, the Mercury-penned "Killer Queen" was conceived as a kind of unholy mating of tin pan alley lyricism with rock 'n' roll dynamism. The opening couplet sets the formal table "She keeps Moet et Chandon in her pretty cabinet/ let them eat cake she says, just like Marie Antoinette". Guitarist Brian May, who was hospitalized with stomach ailments when most of the recording was made, overdubbed his parts to complete the elaborate piece."
